A blend of whole and crushed spices for mulling
wine or cider.
ingredients: cinnamon, star anise, ginger, cloves,
orange peel, nutmeg
Instructions for mulled wine:
In a saucepan or slow cooker pot, add 2-3
(20-30g) tablespoons of mulling spices to 1
bottle of dry red wine or cider. Add in 2-3
orange slices. Sweeten with 2-3
tablespoons of sugar or syrup (try maple!).
Simmer mix under 75 °C for 1-3 hours.
Strain into mugs. Optional: top with a
splash of brandy.
Wine Suggestions: Merlot, Zinfandel,
Garnach, Malbec
